If a vacuum of any kind stops sucking or stops moving or sucking, first ensure that the pump basket under the clear lid is full of water and has no air in it.
Triangle Hand Vacuum, MX6, Hayward Bug/Penguin + Lil Shark Cleaners
- Stop the pump.
- Clean the basket in the skimmer (even if it looks clean).
- Clean the basket in the pump (important) even if you just cleaned it and looks clean.
- Do a quick backwash and rinse even if you just did it.
- Put filter on filtration.
- Turn on the pump and the problem should be solved. If the problem happens again, repeat these steps.
Turtle
- Stop the pump.
- Disconnect hose from the return and clean the little screen and re-assemble.
- Clean the basket in the skimmer (even if it looks clean).
- Clean the basket in the pump (important) even if you just cleaned it and looks clean.
- Do a quick backwash and rinse even if you just did it.
- Put filter on filtration.
- Turn on pump and problem should be solved. If the problem happens again, repeat these steps.
Please note that it is normal that when vacuuming a dirty pool that these steps need to be repeated often as every couple of minutes. That is why we suggest a quick backwash and rinse instead of a long one that will help conserve the water in the pool.
